The Mason-Dixon Trail System had a booth at the Annual Cabin Fever Event at
Moore's Chapel, 392 Blake RD, Elkton, MD on Saturday, March 11, 2017 between
11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The booth was manned by Mike Calabrese and Pete
McLaughlin. We gave away a few M-DT 2012 maps, about 50 brochures and
answered a lot of questions about the Mason-Dixon trail. We had one new
member sign up right on the spot and hope to get some more members via the
brochure and our web site as a result of our presence.
There were about 25 exhibitors at this event besides us. They included: Indian Steps Museum, Ma & Pa Heritage Railroad, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Excelon Corporation, Rising Sun Historical Society, North East Park, Maryland Park Service and others. Not only did the other exhibitors and visitors learn about us. We also learned a lot about them! We had at least 6 people that said that they were there because they saw the announcement on our web site.
This event has been sponsored for the last 9 years by Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church of Elkton, MD. It is designed to show the local community that, with spring right around the corner, there are various outdoor activities that one can get involved with to get out of the house and get outdoors. We had a lot of fun at the M-DTS booth and hope to do this again next year.
