We found an old article in the archives about the origin of the Mason-Dixon Trail. There are a few things in the article that have changed, such as one can no longer get a ride across the US40 bridge from the bridge patrol when hiking the M-DT. You have to take a cab, bus or a 'water shuttle' to get across the river. And the article mentions that the US40 bridge crosses the Brandywine River when it really crosses the Susquehanna River along the route of the M-DT.
