It started on October 19, 2014 and ended on March 6, 2016. A team consisting of Jack Hauler, Mike Bizal, Mike Conrad and a few occasional guest hikers, set out to section hike the entire Mason-Dixon Trail through Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. After 16 months and 18 days, they succeeded. The summary of their trip log is here.

We are starting to hear about more people hiking the entire M-DT. And that's a good thing. Besides the obvious health benefits of hiking this is a great accomplishment for those involved. And we are going to start recognizing these accomplishments from now on. We will be awarding
Sample M-DT Completion Certificate

certificates to those that complete the M-DT, either by hiking, backpacking or running it either in sections or all at one time.

We are also looking into handing out an even more prestigious award to those that complete the 'Quadruple Crown'. This consists of hiking/running the Mason Dixon, Appalachian, Horse-Shoe and Brandywine trails. This is a 428 mile loop. As far as we know, only one person, the late Rick Maerker, has completed it as a thru hike. And one other person that we know of, Seth Koss, has completed it as a series of section hikes over 2 years. More information to follow.

So congrats to Jack, Mike and Mike! And if you complete a hike, backpack or run of the entire Mason-Dixon Trail, whether it be all at one time or in sections, please Contact Us.
